Import and export training courses in South Africa

Practical import export courses for South African businesses trading with Africa and the world. Learn export and import procedures, SARS customs compliance, Incoterms 2020 and the AfCFTA — live online or in-house for your team.

In short

Logtrain runs import and export courses for South African companies and their teams. Courses cover export and import procedures, customs compliance with the South African Revenue Service (SARS), Incoterms 2020 and African trade agreements such as the AfCFTA. Each course runs live online over Zoom or Microsoft Teams in half-day sessions from 08h30 to 12h30 or in-house as a closed group for your staff.

Import and export training your team can use the next day

Every South African importer and exporter deals with the same pressures: goods held at the port or border, declarations rejected by SARS, unexpected duties and disputes over who pays for what when a shipment goes wrong. Most of these problems come from gaps in day-to-day knowledge, not from a lack of effort.

Our import and export training closes those gaps. Delegates learn how export and import procedures work in South Africa, which documents customs expects, how to apply Incoterms 2020 correctly on contracts and quotes and how regional trade agreements open preferential access to markets across the continent. The focus throughout is practical: real documents, real scenarios and the decisions your team makes every week.

Since 2015 Logtrain has trained importers, exporters, clearing agents, freight forwarders and logistics teams. Because courses run live online, a team in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town or Gqeberha can train together — and so can colleagues at branches elsewhere in Southern Africa.

Online import and export courses

All courses are taught live by a facilitator, not pre-recorded. Delegates join on Zoom or Microsoft Teams, ask questions and work through examples in real time. Half-day sessions keep teams operational and nobody needs to travel.

Import export certificate courses

[Accurate statement of what delegates receive on completion — attendance certificate, competence assessment or credits — and the accreditation status of each course. Do not describe any course as a diploma.]

Trading beyond South Africa

For companies exporting into Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique and further north, our trade agreements and road freight courses explain how the AfCFTA and regional arrangements affect duties, rules of origin and documentation.

Import and export training: frequently asked questions

What is an import export course?

An import export course teaches how goods move legally across borders: the procedures, documents, customs declarations and commercial terms involved. Logtrain’s courses focus on South African procedures and SARS requirements, with modules on Incoterms 2020 and African trade agreements.

Are your import and export courses online?

Yes. Every course runs live online over Zoom or Microsoft Teams in half-day sessions from 08h30 to 12h30. In-house courses can also be delivered on-site.

Do you offer an import export certificate or diploma?

[Accurate answer — what delegates receive and its accreditation status. Logtrain does not offer a diploma.]

Are the import and export courses free?

No. Logtrain’s courses are paid, facilitator-led training. [Pricing statement — per person, per group or on request.]

How long does an import and export course take?

Most courses run over one or two four-hour sessions. Export & Import Procedures takes two sessions; Incoterms 2020 takes one.

Which course should my team start with?

Most teams start with Export & Import Procedures, then add Incoterms 2020. Teams that complete customs declarations should also take Customs Compliance Essentials.

Can teams outside South Africa attend?

Yes. Because training is live online, teams anywhere in Africa can join. Most course content is based on South African customs procedures, while the AfCFTA and road freight courses cover cross-border trade more widely.

Can individuals book an import and export course?

No. Logtrain does not run open public sessions. Courses are booked by companies for their teams. See our careers guide for individuals.
