About this course
This programme is built for managers responsible for customs operations. It covers customs management principles, a SWOT analysis of your company’s customs structures and processes, the customs control programme and building a compliance improvement plan that keeps your AEO compliance in place.
Customs risk is a management issue, not only an operational one. Errors on declarations, weak record keeping or poor control over agents can lead to penalties, goods detained at the border and lost accreditation. Managers need to see where those risks sit in their own business and who is responsible for them. Delegates bring their own operation into the discussion, so the course stays practical.
This customs management course connects customs processes to profitability. Delegates assess their company’s customs structures and processes with a SWOT analysis, look at the customs control programme and its effect on the business and build a compliance improvement plan with supporting policies and procedures. It also covers what it takes to retain Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) compliance once a business has it.
