Customs Compliance II — Advanced
2-day virtual workshop: dispute and penalty avoidance
Advanced customs compliance for professionals managing customs risk: dispute resolution, staged consignments, advanced tariff determinations and valuation, plus rebates, refunds and drawbacks.
About this course
Customs compliance is now essential to the survival of every customs broker, importer, exporter, customs controlled area and carrier. This course prepares delegates for the next level of requirements under the new customs legislation, including directors’ fiduciary responsibilities, dispute resolution and advanced valuation.
Delegates learn to identify compliance risks early, strengthen internal controls and correct errors before they become costly violations. The course also covers temporary import and export procedures with provisional payments, RLA migration, advanced RCG reporting and the documents SARS expects to see in an audit.
Disputes with SARS follow set procedures, from requesting reasons for a decision to internal administrative appeal and alternative dispute resolution. Knowing these steps and the time limits that apply helps a business challenge a decision before it becomes final.
