Freight forwarding and cross-border road freight training

Training for freight forwarders, transporters and logistics teams moving goods between South Africa and the rest of Africa — border procedures, risk, Incoterms 2020 and the AfCFTA. Live online or in-house.

In short

Logtrain’s freight forwarding training helps forwarders and transporters move goods across African borders with fewer delays. Courses cover cross-border road freight and border post procedures, export and import procedures, Incoterms 2020 and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA). All run live online or in-house.

Moving freight across Africa’s borders

Road freight carries a large share of trade between South Africa and its neighbours and border posts such as Beitbridge, Lebombo and Kazungula are where time and money are lost. Trucks wait for incomplete documents, consignments are stopped for queries and drivers sit at the border while costs mount.

Our freight forwarding and road freight training focuses on preventing those delays. Delegates learn the documentation and procedures for cross-border consignments, how to identify and reduce risk before a truck leaves and how commercial terms and trade agreements affect who is responsible at each stage of the journey.

Because the training runs live online, forwarders and transporters with teams in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe, Zambia, Mozambique and beyond can train together on the same course.

AfCFTA training for exporters and forwarders

The African Continental Free Trade Area aims to reduce tariffs and trade barriers between African countries. For exporters and forwarders, the practical questions are which goods qualify for preferential treatment, what rules of origin apply and what documentation is needed. Our Trade Agreements: AfCFTA course answers those questions.

Freight forwarding training: frequently asked questions

Most border delays come from incomplete or inconsistent documents and unclear responsibilities. Our Road Freight (Cross-Border) course shows teams how to check consignments before departure and manage risk at the border.

Is there training on the AfCFTA?
